Today we were due to go to Abbyleix in county Laois to meet up with my best friend, Mary Aoife and her brother Seamús. Unfortunately though Tiarnán was sick so we had to cancel at the last minute. Amber had already gone to Eleanor's house for the day but Skye was at home as she was going to come with us on our trip. Although it was disappointing I decided it was a good opportunity for Skye to have a turn at being the only dog in the house for a day.
I took Skye into the field again for a free run around. It was different for her without Amber, as she would normally come with us too. She was good with recall, responding more times than not, probably as she was not distracted by wanting to play with Amber. Any time she ran over to me, I rewarded her with a tasty treat, therefore encouraging her to stay nearby. I was slightly concerned that she might try to go through the gap into the ajoining field where the cows were but it was not an issue.

Skye was delighted when Amber came home again, they were both really happy to see each other!
