Skye's week!

Sorry it's been a few days since I last posted on the blog, we've been quite busy lately.

On Monday we took Skye to Supervalu. She walked nicely beside the trolley - the only issue was that she kept rubbing against us as she was wearing the Halti. We gently push her away and then reward her, and hopefully with time she will stop this habit. In the afternoon our Uncle, Aunt and baby cousin came over, Skye is well used to babies and young children at this stage and she's never bothered with people coming and going.

On Tuesday Skye and Amber went to Puppy Class and there were lots of new dogs for them to meet. We had all the dogs on lead and they walked around in a circle; Skye was just on the collar and she kept a loose lead. Sometimes I notice she sniffs the ground a bit at puppy classes, but when I say "leave it" and continue walking then she follows me.  When we did recall Skye was also very good and came as soon as she was called.

On Wednesday we went visiting to a farm with some Pygmy goats and we are going to be getting four goats - one girl Hermione (who will belong to me and my sister Orla) and three boys (we had planned just to get two boys but then fell in love with the three of them!) - Harry, Ron and Neville. As you might have guessed they are named after Harry Potter characters. We left Amber and Skye in the van when we went to see the goats but they'll be able to meet them when we bring them home in a months time.

On Thursday (today!) some of the family went out and took Amber, some of us stayed home. Skye stayed home too, you could tell she missed Amber though! I was baking this afternoon and Skye was much better about settling down and not fussing for the food. At mealtimes when we can't train Skye we tether her on the french door with her bed and she has enough lead to come beside where I sit so if she does start to try and steal food I can tell her to "leave it" and reward her when she does so. She's definitely begining to improve.
