A trip to the Shops

This evening we went out to a Shopping centre. Skye was very motivated by the treats I had, and I brought the clicker along too (I'm glad I had it with me, as Skye was much more focused on me instead of all the distractions - I'd take it again next time) We went into Marks and Spencers, as practicaly all the other shops had closed for the night (we went at 8pm). We did some food shopping, we had a trolley with us and she was quite happy to walk along nicely beside it (Though she isn't as keen if you don't have a treat!) A few people came up to say hello to her (mainly the staff) but less people than when she was a tiny pup. I think this is because she is older now, so they can see that we are busy working with her and training and therefore don't want to distract her.

At the shops!
She didn't seem to be at all interested in all the food around, though I did have treats for her. When I had her attention she was very good at doing what I asked. She doesn't pull on the lead, but when she gets tired she doesn't want to walk, and it's hard to get her to walk then, you can't just carry her anymore!

On Saturday we are taking Skye to an AADI (Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland) fundraising bag pack in Supervalu in Tipperary town. It will be a great socialising opportunity for Skye and should be lots of fun too!
